project challenge:
The customer was in need of above ground fuel storage at the airport base. Tanks were used to fuel airport fuel trucks and ground equipment.
truenorth steel solution and products used in application:
TrueNorth Steel provided 2 – 10,000 gallon doublewall horizontal Flameshield® tanks for above ground installation. Tanks were 10′ x 18′ in size.
Flameshield® tanks have been subjected to a 2-hour fire test and are built to UL-142 specifications. Flameshield® tanks are also built in accordance with the Steel Tank Institute’s F-001-01 standard.
Special/unique elements of the project:
TrueNorth Steel provided catwalk and stairway systems to the tanks for ease of access to the top of tanks for fuel sampling.
