TrueNorth Steel was recently honored with three safety awards from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC). This organization serves the structural steel design community and construction industry across the country, and TrueNorth Steel has been a proud member for over a decade. Their mission is to make structural steel the material of choice for construction, which they pursue through research, education, technical assistance, certification, and advocacy.
The AISC Safety Awards rely on “Days Away, Restricted or Transfered” (DART) rates that companies report to OSHA. DART measures the number of recordable lost work cases per 200,000 hours worked. A Safety Award of Honor is awarded to fabricators and erectors with perfect records for the year. TrueNorth Steel’s Lubbock, TX and Billings, MT sites received this award. A Safety Award of Merit is given to fabricators and erectors who have excellent DART records (0<DART≤1). TrueNorth Steel’s Billings, MT site was honored with this award.
