The purpose of this project between the City of Fargo and the North Dakota Department of Transportation was to improve access to and from I-29. The project planned to upgrade operations and reduce delays along the corridor by widening the road for added capacity. The stretch of roadway was widened to six lanes and included double, westbound left turn lanes to 42nd Street. Several ¾ access intersections were added for improved safety, in addition to a new southbound I-29 eastbound loop ramp in the southwest quadrant of the interchange and a pedestrian underpass on the north side. TrueNorth Steel delivered and erected the girders overnight and major traffic was not distrupted.
