On August 14, 2024, the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library reached a significant milestone with its topping out ceremony in Medora, North Dakota. This event marked the completion of the structural framework, a momentous occasion not only for the project but also for TrueNorth Steel, which has played a critical role in the construction process.

A Day of Celebration and Reflection

The entire Mandan TrueNorth Steel team made the trip to Medora to witness this momentous occasion. In addition to the topping out ceremony, the team got the opportunity to sign the final structural steel beam before it was placed atop the building. This beam, like most of the steel used in the project, was fabricated at TrueNorth Steel’s Mandan facility, making the day even more significant for the team.

Trever Leingang, Project Manager at JE Dunn Construction, expressed his appreciation for TrueNorth Steel’s contributions, stating, “I don’t think there could have been a better company to be a big part of the project. TrueNorth Steel has really been a huge partner in the build of this structure so far.”

Commitment to Safety

One of the highlights of the day was the recognition of TrueNorth Steel for its exemplary safety record. Throughout the production and structural steel erection phase, there were no accidents or injuries. This accomplishment emphasizes the importance placed on ensuring that every project is completed with the highest standards of safety and care.

A Historic Project for North Dakota

The significance of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library extends beyond its physical structure. As Senator John Hoeven highlighted during the ceremony, “This library is a historic project for our state, honoring Teddy Roosevelt and the significant impact North Dakota had on his presidency. Today’s milestone is a welcome step in the library’s construction, and we look forward to seeing this tremendous project come to completion.”

TrueNorth Steel is honored to be part of such an impactful project. The dedication and craftsmanship of the team are now etched into the history of the Theodore Roosevelt Presidential Library, a testament to their hard work and commitment.

As the construction progresses, TrueNorth Steel continues to uphold its commitment to providing top-quality materials and support, ensuring the successful completion of this significant landmark.
