At TrueNorth Steel, our team members make an impact in many ways. For Tank Product Designer, Tim Stoll, he brings joy and connection across the region by sharing his talent and passion for music.
What began as a love for music has become an opportunity to brighten someone’s day. Across senior living communities in Fargo, Frazee, Ulen, Perham, Detroit Lakes and beyond, Tim shares his talent with residents through familiar classics and favorite songs from years past. He says Merle Haggard is always a crowd favorite. Through music, his talents spark memories and bring people together, one performance at a time.
“I started playing piano as a kid and in my teens I learned to play bass and then guitar,” said Tim. “Over the years, I’ve played in country gospel, worship, and bluegrass bands. In 2021, I moved to Detroit Lakes and started playing for folks in homes.”
For residents, the experience often means much more than a musical performance. Familiar songs can transport people back to meaningful moments in their lives, encouraging smiles and shared memories. “I play the songs they know and their favorites over the years. When they recognize a song, their faces light up and you can see old memories come back to them,” said Tim.
Whether dancing, tapping their feet or simply enjoying the moment, it’s a simple gift that keeps on giving. Tim’s one-hour performance has left a lasting impression on him. “Seeing the music make a difference, hearing their stories, and watching them smile or even tear up as they sing along is incredibly rewarding,” he said.
Tim’s commitment to serving others reflects a simple yet powerful idea: the talents we have can make a difference when we choose to share them.
For more than 80 years, TrueNorth Steel has been built by people who believe in making a positive impact, not only through the work we do, but through how we show up each day. We’re proud to have team members like Tim who continue that legacy by investing their time, talents and heart into the lives of others.
