Corrugated steel pipe has proven to provide a versatile, structurally sound, and cost effective solution. Hopper openings and conveyor supports are easily accommodated. TrueNorth Steel’s innovative one-piece tank design shortened placement time while the company’s consistent manufacturing saved the customer thousands of dollars since pre-fabricated piping could be used. A 120” diameter galvanized pipe was used to reline an existing concrete structure. The $68 million, three-year-long, 170,000 SF expansion to Campbell County Memorial Hospital located in Gillette, Wyoming included a 3-story patient care tower addition, a 320-stall parking structure, building expansion, as well as a helipad and featured many state-of-the-art interior upgrades. The CHS Refinery located at the south end of Laurel, MT spans 350 acres and is currently undergoing its second major upgrade in less than a decade. Aluminized Type II Corrugated Steel Pipe with Waterman Canal Gates was used to easily control the flood water back up in to the city storm sewer system by fitting the structure into existing storm sewer lines Existing wood deck for steel girder bridge has deteriorated to a point where load limits decreased to critical levels. Steel girders are still in good shape and have years of service left. Relining of existing structural plate pipe with 60” dia. 10 gauge polymer coated corrugated steel pipe. Liner pipe was installed and back-grouted in place in the existing conduit to extend the service life an additional 75 years TrueNorth Steel provided corrugated steel pipe manholes with integral pipe stubs which reduced project costs and allowed for accelerated construction. Eglise Bridge is comprised of two plate girder approach spans and two arch truss main spans. The total bridge length is 500 feet and 39 feet wide and includes a two-way drive lane as well as a pedestrian pathway. The bridge spans from the main lodge to the future Eglise mountain development. Galvanized Corrugated Steel Pipe was used to replace a failing concrete pipe. 60 years later, this pipe is shown in inspections to still be in excellent condition. Structural Plate Bridge was placed on concrete footings above the normal flow of the creek in the bridge replacement solution The City of Fargo is expanding the overall capacity of Fargo’s Water Treatment Plant from 30 million gallons a day to 45 million gallons a day. The project, expected to last three years, will include technology to remove sulfate and bromide, as well as the construction of an independent treatment train to help with any future water quantity or quality problems that could develop. Removal of existing culverts to replace with a bottomless EcoArch to allow migration of Westslope Cutthroat Trout The 217,300 SF West patient care tower addition to the Huntington Memorial Hospital, a twin to the east tower – Consists of 128 patient care rooms fully equipped with state-of-art technology. With the west tower addition, all of the Hospital’s essential services are housed in seismically compliant buildings. Lining of existing structural plate pipe originally installed in 1960’s. Relining with Aluminized Steel type II corrugated pipe extended the service life of the crossing an additional 75 years. This installation extended the lifespan of a structure that was already 50 years old. Underground Stormwater storage system captures runoff from site parking lot. This allowed for maximizing the number of parking spaces. Corrugated steel pipe provided a single solution to sloughing soils to the desired depth. Corrugated steel pipe can span long distances between supports to accommodate elevated conduit over this drainage channel. The contractor understood the total installation costs were far less than the straw wattle option even though the material cost for the Compost sock was higher. Compost filter sock’s flow-thru filtering allows dissipation of water build-up behind the sock. Because of its flow-thru characteristics and weighing 8# per foot eliminates trenching of the CFS and staking up to 10 ft. cut installation in ¼ the time of straw wattles. Engineer was pleased with the installation. Structure was paved with concrete on the bottom to allow passing of golf carts Because of its flexibility and ability to provide erosion protection with various infill materials, the Presto GEOWEB confinement system was chosen to provide erosion protection to the open channels and the embankments of stormwater detention ponds. Attractive and durable weathering steel Montana State’s new Norm Asbjornson Hall will house two fast-growing programs- Engineer and Honors College’s offices. At 110,000 SF, Norm Hall will be one of the largest buildings on campus. The new Hall featuring state-of-the-art classrooms and laboratories is scheduled to be complete in 2019. Specified by North Dakota DOT as an alternative to RCP For the Douglas Wyoming Railroad Bridge, corrugated steel pipe was the solution to the rehabilitation of this old railroad timber structure. The most important part of this rehab project was keeping the crossing was open though the entire installation process. Approximately 50’ of cover is over the host pipe. Oil and gas pipe lines along with high voltage power lines were weaved through the over burden area therefore removal was almost impossible. The bottom of the host pipe was near 50% gone or buckled. Crews had to cut out bad pipe areas, adding in supports to hold and strengthen the host pipe; as well as weld in skid plates for the liner pipe to slide on, prior to the process of lining and grouting. The North Dakota Mill is a state-owned flour mill in Grand Forks, ND. In 2016 they expanded their milling capacity and storage capacity with a $38 million project. The addition of the $27 million “G” mill addition created the largest milling plant in the country. The Bulk flour bin storage project was part of a $4.4 million expansion to add 9 bulk flour storage bins made of stainless steel. TrueNorth Steel supplied the structural steel for the bulk flour storage area addition and the stainless steel flour storage bins. The bin portion of the project required TrueNorth Steel to deliver the bins in 3 sections to help with the small area for the erector to place the bins in their final location. Bin Sizes: 70’ 10” Height; 11’-0” Diameter A 25-foot timber bridge located near Broken Bow will be replaced with two 84-inch round equivalent culvert pipes with headwalls and wing wall construction provided by TrueNorth Steel. Existing concrete pipe was extended with a 72” 12 Ga Aluminized Type II Corrugated Steel Pipe with a 85”x59” Bulkhead Adapter The liner pipe was installed and the annulus was grouted through internal ports. The installation process minimized the time required to rehabilitate this existing pipe. MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT Windmill Foundation 144” Dia. 12 Ga. The bins were shipped to the project site after hours by special haul transport on a specific pre-surveyed route and erected on site with precise fit and finish. The three-story ambulatory clinical building will consist of forty-six exam rooms, five surgical suites, advanced diagnostic and treatment modalities, and a comprehensive cancer treatment center located on the ground level. This $80 million, 106,000 SF outpatient clinic is scheduled to open summer of 2018. New corrugated headwall ensured proper flow into pipe and protected against overtopping. Rapid City Regional Hospital’s renovation and expansion project is the largest in its 45-year history. The $200-million project involved renovating the hospital as well as building a new main entrance, hospital office building and parking structure, and expanding the emergency department. TrueNorth Steel assisted in a number of ways, including pre-construction and project management services, 3D steel detailing, building information modeling, structural and miscellaneous metals fabrication and steel erection. This bridge was initially proposed with an AASHTO HL-20-44 load rating and KLJ engineering requested the load rating be increased to an AASHTO HL-93. TrueNorth Steel’s fast turnaround and low cost were keys in the decision to choose this bridge over other options. The modular bridge was installed on to the bridge pilings and completely assembled in less than three hours from arrival of the crane to lift the modules. The 200,000-square-foot, three-story Riverside University Health System Medical Office Building will open its doors to patients in early 2020. The new facility design includes multiple clinics, an ambulatory surgery center, rehabilitation center, pharmacy and imaging center as well as a new café and lobby. A new pedestrian bridge will connect the new building to the adjacent hospital. TrueNorth Steel provided pre-construction coordination, project management services, 3D steel detailing, building information modeling, structural metals fabrication and steel erection. The owner-required 800 lb door necessitated extra reinforcement of the bulkheads S.U.R.F (Ross Shaft) is located in Lead, South Dakota, at the former Homestake Gold Mine, which has now been converted into a dedicated science facility. The research facility has many experiments going on, one of them the “LUX Experiment” and the study of neutrino is located 4,850 feet underground. TrueNorth Steel® has been working on S.U.R.F since June of 2013. This project was originally a wetland replacement project. The Parshall Flume was a late addition when the project owners realized they needed to monitor the water flow into the wetland. The $30 million dollar renovation and expansion of the level 2 major medical trauma center was completed on time, without any interruptions to normal operations. Although cancer medicine is the downtown clinic’s primary focus, the 200,000 SF expansion also includes an urgent care clinic, mental health wing, palliative care, and physical therapy departments. The expansion features a new patient waiting area, 583 beds, and a larger parking structure. The one million square foot, 11-story facility will house 384 beds, 36 operating rooms, and 50 emergency departments. Making it one of the largest healthcare construction projects in the US. TrueNorth Steel® fabricated and erected the steel in just eight months. The facility opened July of 2017. Existing 72” CMP exceeded the life expectancy and a 63” outside diameter was used to slip line, bulk head, and grout annular space. The first Scheels store opened in 1902. Today, there are twenty-seven stores in eleven states. Signature Scheels stores have approximately 250,000 square feet of retail space, proudly constructed with exposed complex structural steel and miscellaneous metals supplied and erected by TrueNorth Steel. 60” 14 Ga Perforated Aluminized Type II 5×1 Corrugation retention system measuring 598’ with two manifolds to collect run-off in the residential subdivision High stream flows in June 2015 washed out two undersized culverts on Slate Creek Dam Road. A road closure was put in place for safety reasons, but vehicles were fording the creek causing resource damage. Missoula, Montana The South Reserve Street pedestrian bridge is comprised of four modular sections, one large arch section, two ramp supports, and one stair section. The fact this project was an upgrade at an existing power plant meant timing and coordination by all trades were critical to the success of the project. The existing facility was required to stay operational during the project construction and had a firm timeline that did not allow for any delay. Through pre-construction planning with the project team at TrueNorth Steel, this project finished ahead of schedule and on budget. The project went on to win the “Project of the Year” award for TIC / Kiewit. MATERIALS & EQUIPMENT 12” Perforated Galvanized Drainline with 6” Risers 60” Aluminized Type II Corrugated Spiral Rib Pipe was used for this storm drain conveyance for a low cost installation for the city Road widening project required rapid completion time to be coordinated with earthwork and paving. Covering approximately 24,000 acres, the iron ore project is expected to be the only facility in the US to produce standard, fluxed and DR grade Pellets. Aluminized Type II Corrugated Steel underground detention system totaling 920’ was made to collect runoff for the Town Pump in Kalispell at a lower cost and ease of installment compared to competitors. Structural plate box culverts provide a cost-effective low rise, low cover alternative to conventional bridges. Maintenance costs are much lower than conventional bridges. We built four (4) – 400 gallon and eight (8) – 200 gallon bulk oil It was a project requirement that the road remain open during project and to keep water flowing through the crossing to meet MNDOT environmental requirements. Construction includes a storage facility that can hold 53,000 tons of granular urea, as well as a new load-out facility that can load 110 rail-cars in a single shipment. Upon completion, the plant will produce urea, diesel exhaust, and carbon dioxide. TrueNorth Steel fabricated 11 primary structures for the process and handling facilities. Part of the DGC/BEPC Urea Fertilizer plant project. The 300-ton conveyor tube galleries were fabricated for the material handling portion of the Urea Fertilizer plant to a storage building and then on to a loadout facility. TrueNorth Steel fabricated the tube galleries outer shell and with our partners, who fabricated the conveyor sections and stainless steel chutes for transfer of the fertilizer material. The conveyor sections were installed by TrueNorth Steel in the shells to help with the erection in the field. One tube gallery was spray foam insulated and cladded with a corrugated aluminum cladding, while the other was finish painted exterior. TrueNorth Steel also fabricated the large bent supports to support the galleries between the buildings. Perforated Aluminized Type II Corrugated Steel Pipe with Head and Wing Walls was used in this bridge replacement The new four-story, 83,295 square foot Digital Classroom Building will serve as a revolutionary teaching and learning space, accommodating student population growth, as well as address the tremendous advances made in understanding the way students learn. The Digital Classroom Building will feature state-of-the-art technology, twelve classrooms that vary in size, a 250 seat learning Hall, an event/gathering place, a cafe, and various support centers. 144” Aluminized Type II Corrugated Steep Pipe with head and wing walls was used to replace a failing bridge in a cost effective, short time frame West Magpie Creek supports West Slope Cutthroat Trout. It was necessary to remove a perched culvert pipe to allow Salmonid migration and prevent a genetically isolated population. 60” Aluminized Type II perforated pipe was used for this underground stormwater retention system for parking lot drainage Softer subgrade conditions than were expected were encountered and the contractor was unable to add more aggregate thickness due to time and cost restraints. An alternate Tensar geogrid pavement section required less aggregate to develop the strength needed for the pavement design. The Tensar geogrid could be installed immediately, regardless of temperature or moisture, and the existing design section of rock could be used. TrueNorth Steel provided 2 – 10,000 gallon doublewall horizontal Flameshield® tanks for above ground installation. Tanks were 10′ x 18′ in size. Flameshield® tanks have been subjected to a 2-hour fire test and are built to UL-142 specifications. Flameshield® tanks are also built in accordance with the Steel Tank Institute’s F-001-01 standard. TrueNorth Steel provided many components, including its innovative containment systems, to protect the new well sites near the Missouri River. In addition, TrueNorth developed and installed 2,100 feet of raised, steel walkway inside the containments. 25000-gallon cone bottom foam insulated tank with outside Yellowstone Club Village Core Project is a central clubhouse for the Yellowstone Club Community located at the base of a private ski mountain. The 475,000 SF complex contains retail space, restaurants and condo units. The Yellowstone Club is an exclusive club located near Big Sky, Montana.

Roseau, MN were they are building the community a brand new
space, offering more dining options, as well as a Burger King.
The new tanks and pumps will allow for a vehicle pumping
station as well as a semi pumping station. TrueNorth Steel
Logistics provided on time delivery by coordinating the crane
schedule with the contractor so that no time was wasted.
Having all four tanks ready to be placed by the crane, they were
able to achieve setting them all in less than 4 hours.

SPECIAL PROJECT ELEMENTS: Transporting the perforated pipe to the jobsite was a challenge because the project is located in an underground mine. The pipe was made into 15’ sections to facilitate transportation underground.

adjustable drip tray, 4’ high and measuring 24’ long. The stand
was placed in a containment system we manufactured to catch
any oil residue and obtain a safe, clean work environment.

and help give the customer better tracking and billing.
