For the Douglas Wyoming Railroad Bridge, corrugated steel pipe was the solution to the rehabilitation of this old railroad timber structure. The most important part of this rehab project was keeping the crossing was open though the entire installation process.
Approximately 50ā of cover is over the host pipe. Oil and gas pipe lines along with high voltage power lines were weaved through the over burden area therefore removal was almost impossible. The bottom of the host pipe was near 50% gone or buckled. Crews had to cut out bad pipe areas, adding in supports to hold and strengthen the host pipe; as well as weld in skid plates for the liner pipe to slide on, prior to the process of lining and grouting.
The North Dakota Mill is a state-owned flour mill in Grand Forks, ND. In 2016 they expanded their milling capacity and storage capacity with a $38 million project. The addition of the $27 million āGā mill addition created the largest milling plant in the country. The Bulk flour bin storage project was part of a $4.4 million expansion to add 9 bulk flour storage bins made of stainless steel. TrueNorth Steel supplied the structural steel for the bulk flour storage area addition and the stainless steel flour storage bins. The bin portion of the project required TrueNorth Steel to deliver the bins in 3 sections to help with the small area for the erector to place the bins in their final location.

Rapid City Regional Hospitalās renovation and expansion project is the largest in its 45-year history. The $200-million project involved renovating the hospital as well as building a new main entrance, hospital office building and parking structure, and expanding the emergency department. TrueNorth Steel assisted in a number of ways, including pre-construction and project management services, 3D steel detailing, building information modeling, structural and miscellaneous metals fabrication and steel erection.
This bridge was initially proposed with an AASHTO HL-20-44 load rating and KLJ engineering requested the load rating be increased to an AASHTO HL-93. TrueNorth Steelās fast turnaround and low cost were keys in the decision to choose this bridge over other options. The modular bridge was installed on to the bridge pilings and completely assembled in less than three hours from arrival of the crane to lift the modules.
The 200,000-square-foot, three-story Riverside University Health System Medical Office Building will open its doors to patients in early 2020. The new facility design includes multiple clinics, an ambulatory surgery center, rehabilitation center, pharmacy and imaging center as well as a new cafeĢ and lobby. A new pedestrian bridge will connect the new building to the adjacent hospital. S.U.R.F (Ross Shaft) is located in Lead, South Dakota, at the former Homestake Gold Mine, which has now been converted into a dedicated science facility. The research facility has many experiments going on, one of them the āLUX Experimentā and the study of neutrino is located 4,850 feet underground. TrueNorth SteelĀ® has been working on S.U.R.F since June of 2013.
This project was originally a wetland replacement project. The Parshall Flume was a late addition when the project owners realized they needed to monitor the water flow into the wetland.
The $30 million dollar renovation and expansion of the level 2 major medical trauma center was completed on time, without any interruptions to normal operations. Although cancer medicine is the downtown clinicās primary focus, the 200,000 SF expansion also includes an urgent care clinic, mental health wing, palliative care, and physical therapy departments. The expansion features a new patient waiting area, 583 beds, and a larger parking structure.
The one million square foot, 11-story facility will house 384 beds, 36 operating rooms, and 50 emergency departments. Making it one of the largest healthcare construction projects in the US. TrueNorth SteelĀ® fabricated and erected the steel in just eight months. The facility opened July of 2017.

The South Reserve Street pedestrian bridge is comprised of four modular sections, one large arch section, two ramp supports, and one stair section.
The fact this project was an upgrade at an existing power plant meant timing and coordination by all trades were critical to the success of the project. The existing facility was required to stay operational during the project construction and had a firm timeline that did not allow for any delay. Through pre-construction planning with the project team at TrueNorth Steel, this project finished ahead of schedule and on budget. The project went on to win the āProject of the Yearā award for TIC / Kiewit.

We built four (4) ā 400 gallon and eight (8) ā 200 gallon bulk oil
tanks with transport fills. Tanks were 46ā Deep 60ā High and
either 17ā or 35ā wide. The tanks were set on a tank stand with
adjustable drip tray, 4ā high and measuring 24ā long. The stand
was placed in a containment system we manufactured to catch
any oil residue and obtain a safe, clean work environment.
We used Liquidynamicsā OilCop system to meter the oil usage
and help give the customer better tracking and billing.
It was a project requirement that the road remain open during project and to keep water flowing through the crossing to meet MNDOT environmental requirements.

The Urea Plant is presently under construction and is scheduled for completion in 2017. Construction includes a storage facility that can hold 53,000 tons of granular urea, as well as a new load-out facility that can load 110 rail-cars in a single shipment.
Upon completion, the plant will produce urea, diesel exhaust, and carbon dioxide. TrueNorth Steel fabricated 11 primary structures for the process and handling facilities.
Part of the DGC/BEPC Urea Fertilizer plant project. The 300-ton conveyor tube galleries were fabricated for the material handling portion of the Urea Fertilizer plant to a storage building and then on to a loadout facility. TrueNorth Steel fabricated the tube galleries outer shell and with our partners, who fabricated the conveyor sections and stainless steel chutes for transfer of the fertilizer material. The conveyor sections were installed by TrueNorth Steel in the shells to help with the erection in the field. One tube gallery was spray foam insulated and cladded with a corrugated aluminum cladding, while the other was finish painted exterior. TrueNorth Steel also fabricated the large bent supports to support the galleries between the buildings.

Softer subgrade conditions than were expected were encountered and the contractor was unable to add more aggregate thickness due to time and cost restraints. An alternate Tensar geogrid pavement section required less aggregate to develop the strength needed for the pavement design. The Tensar geogrid could be installed immediately, regardless of temperature or moisture, and the existing design section of rock could be used.
TrueNorth Steel provided 2 ā 10,000 gallon doublewall horizontal FlameshieldĀ® tanks for above ground installation. Tanks were 10ā² x 18ā² in size.
FlameshieldĀ® tanks have been subjected to a 2-hour fire test and are built to UL-142 specifications. FlameshieldĀ® tanks are also built in accordance with the Steel Tank Instituteās F-001-01 standard.
TrueNorth Steel provided many components, including its innovative containment systems, to protect the new well sites near the Missouri River. In addition, TrueNorth developed and installed 2,100 feet of raised, steel walkway inside the containments.
