West Fargo, ND –  North Dakota governor Doug Burgum has appointed Kellie Carlson, Vice President of Human Resources for TrueNorth Steel, to serve on the North Dakota Workforce Development Council. As a member on the council, Kellie will serve through June of 2024.

The council’s objective is to advise the governor and the public concerning the nature and extent of workforce development in the context of North Dakota’s Economic Development needs, and how to meet the needs effectively while maximizing the efficient use of available resources and avoiding unnecessary duplication of effort.

“I am honored to have been appointed to this influential council of North Dakota. An employer’s people strategy is what ensures organizations not only survive but thrive in the new workforce environment. I look forward to working with the committee on barriers the potential employees in the state could face as we will all need to be creative in our recruiting and retention strategies to fill our employment needs both now and into the future.” Said Kellie.

Kellie is currently Vice President of Human Resources for TrueNorth Steel and its entities. TrueNorth Steel is a steel fabrication company headquartered in Fargo, ND and with operations located throughout the upper Midwest, Rocky Mountain states and Texas. TrueNorth Steel celebrated its 75th anniversary in business in 2020 and supports almost 300 employees in North Dakota.
