Clemow Lane Bridge Deck Replacement

An existing wood deck for a steel girder bridge in Montana had deteriorated to a point where load limits had decreased to critical levels. While the girders still had many years of service left, the deck needed to be replaced. Beaverhead County utilized TrueNorth Steel’s RediDek™ prefabricated, corrugated deck panels to stiffen the entire structure and increase load limits to current standards. These panels are preassembled in the shop and are ready to install. These prefabricated deck panels were preassembled in the shop, which facilitated one-day bridge deck replacement. As an added challenge, the bridge could only be closed for 12 hours maximum. Eight hours after installation began, the bridge was opened to traffic. This solution offered a fast, low cost installation to the customer.
