Industrial Coatings Painter


Wage Information:

$16-18 DOE

Painter 1

Responsible for various painting tasks including surface preparation and applying a finished coated surface on the inside and/or outside of a specific product in order to meet customer and/or internal quality specifications.

Essential Position Requirements:

  • Follow all company safety and quality requirements.

  • Able to accomplish painting practices and procedures meeting AISC and SSPC standards.

  • Knowledge of how to read MSDS book.

  • Self-motivated and able to complete duties beyond those specifically laid-out by supervisors.

  • Assist in the loading/unloading of product onto flatbeds/trailers.

  • Operate fork lift and bridge crane.

  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime or weekends as needed.

  • Prompt and dependable attendance.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Work Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must have the ability and openness to learn painting techniques and apply them quickly and proficiently.

  • Basic knowledge of lifting and rigging.

  • Basic knowledge of material movement with applicable equipment.

  • Basic knowledge of material prep for painting.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Painter is regularly required to sit, using hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, and talk and hear well.
  • The Painter may be required to lift up to 50 pounds.

  • The Painter must be able to climb stairs, bend at the waist, twist, climb, stoop, stand, walk, grasp, pull, push, and have the full use of fingers on both hands to enable safe material handling, as well as function efficiently and safely in the outdoor work environments with exposure to weather extremes.

  • The Painter must be able to hear and understand verbal instructions in a shop environment, as well as effectively communicate (verbal and written)
